Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 7, 2026
Exploris does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. We built Exploris as a self-contained learning app with no accounts, no tracking, and no analytics.
What stays on your device
The following information is stored locally on your device and never leaves it:
- Your learning progress (countries, capitals, stamps earned)
- Your profiles and avatars
- Your settings (language, theme, haptics, map toggles)
This data is saved using the operating system's secure local storage (UserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android). It is removed when you delete the app.
Network requests
Exploris works fully offline. When an internet connection is available, the app may:
- Download updated country data (names, capitals, flags) from a public GitHub Pages endpoint.
- Load country flags from a public CDN.
- Open Wikipedia articles in your browser when you tap a country link.
These are standard HTTP requests to public resources. The hosting providers (GitHub, Wikipedia) may log IP addresses as part of normal web traffic — this is inherent to the internet and not something Exploris controls or uses.
Third parties
Exploris does not include any third-party SDKs, advertising networks, analytics tools, or tracking libraries. We do not share any information with anyone because we do not collect any in the first place.
In-app review requests
Occasionally, Exploris may ask you to rate the app using the standard system dialog (SKStoreReviewController on iOS, Google Play In-App Review on Android). These dialogs are shown and handled by Apple and Google respectively, under their own privacy policies. Exploris does not receive any information about your rating or response.
Children
Exploris is suitable for users of all ages. Because we do not collect any personal data, the app complies with children's privacy regulations (COPPA in the US, GDPR-K in the EU) by design.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Since the app does not collect data, substantial changes are unlikely.
